China: Piglets Freeze on Command as Owner Plays Red Light Green Light

A group of piglets inside a pen in Sichuan province instantly froze when their owner shouted a phrase from the children's game "Red Light, Green Light" on May 5. When the owner entered the pigpen, the piglets began running around in different directions. The owner then shouted, “One, two, three, red light! Whoever moves is a pig!” In an instant, all the piglets stopped moving, as if the video had suddenly frozen. The scene looked like the animals were actually playing the children’s game with their owner.

China: Passersby Rescue Horse Trapped in Wire Fence in Xinjiang

A group of passersby rescued a horse that had become entangled in a wire fence in Xinjiang, China, on June 6, 2026. After borrowing pliers from a woman at the scene, the group worked together to free the animal. Throughout the rescue, a second horse stood quietly nearby, waiting for its companion. The two horses walked away together once the trapped horse was freed.

Burang Gutu Eve Celebration - Xizang

Two days ahead of the Tibetan New Year is the traditional "Gutu Eve" for families to have a feast of "gutu", a traditional soup dish made of flour, at home. "Gu" in Tibetan means nine, which is a lucky number. "Tu" means "pasta." Nine different fillings like wool, charcoal and chili are placed inside the dough drops, and each of these fillings has a meaning. While in Burang, "Gutu" is a sort of porridge with nine ingredients and also a distinctive dish on the dinner table of the "Gutu Eve." In Khorchak Village of Burang County, Jamyang Drolma's family is bustling with New Year preparations at home. A pot of "Gutu" steams on the stove, while the "chema," a two-tier rectangular wooden box containing roasted barley and fried wheat grain, is placed to pray for harvest in the next year.
